Corporate Image library Photography
A follow-up commission from The Royal Mail for more reportage photography for their corporate image library, working with the design agency Speak Media.
This time, the brief was to document their work in and around Edinburgh, Cardiff, and Belfast. Working at various locations, over several days, sometimes pre-determined locations, sometimes from exploring an area in a vehicle or on foot, looking for angles. A mixture of un-posed reportage and images created with just some small direction given to the Royal Mail staff – given the tight practice brief from the client. Natural creative corporate reportage images, as material for the corporate image library.
Working with just the available light, in all locations, the aim was to capture natural corporate reportage images, using Royal Mail staff, rather than professional models. A ‘photojournalistic’ look to the images. Sometimes we even had the bad weather, that we encountered in Edinburgh, which turned out to be a bonus! Giving the coverage more range. Showing staff working all in all weathers. From inside the sorting rooms, early in the morning, to doing the rounds in central Edinburgh in a downpour. Deliveries in central Belfast or delivering mail in the glorious countryside of Northern Ireland and around Cardiff.
Working quickly, we covered a lot of ground in only one or two days in each location. Keeping the approach naturalistic, so no extra lighting – just using the environment to best effect as we went from location to location. It’s a way of working that fits with my background working for National newspapers. Find the image and capture it quickly!
Please do get in touch if this style of photography would work well with your corporate photography needs.
“I really love the pictures from this shoot. Awesome variety and the landscape shots are beautiful. Brilliant.”
